Winterberry farm or Silverwastes/RIBA farm winterberry if you're shooting for asc trinkets, SW if you just want pure can get a stack or two in one single SW farm rotation, winterberry is quicker in theory but you also need multiple alts parked there as there's a finite number of nodes if you want a huge quantity of it.
About a year or two ago, before pof came out, i found a web page that has routes and spots for any material on all maps that you wish to farm. Using a core thief (without a mount), and gathering only soft,hard wood, iron and platinum ore, i managed to get about 19/20 gold (after tp tax) in total.

When I was farming Iron ore, I was in western/eastern plagelands, and satisfyingly I also found loads of mithirl ore in eastern. I was grinding about 40 min, and i came up with a total of 280 Iron ores, and 131 mithril ore.. so a good spot! ... I do believe that this is the best place to farm Mithril ore.
