With ~200 minerals per month you'd need 100 years to get the equivalent of 12'000 minerals in bulk. You're better off taking 12k and reinvesting it into mineral production. Have to remember that is 200 minerals before upkeep, which is fairly easy to get to. Once you get a bit higher, it really starts to pay off.

Well yeah, kinda, I think it had about 810 minerals plus some research interests, so a pretty valuable system. It should have more. 10+ minerals, 10+ energy and several unique resources. 2134: The source of the signals is tracked. Apparently the Mining drones have constructed a central processing hub ore grinder base. The Mining drones have built it in secret and it has been sending out signals. Making the drones more organized and refining minerals using an advanced technology.
Regardless of if they've been killed or not, entering the system for the first time will trigger a popup stating it as the Drones' home system. If you want to kill it yourself you'll need an antidrone fleet of about 8k, and include one or two carriers for PD because the Ore Grinder Base can deploy Drone Strikecraft.
